Today on Mastering Money, a very special guest joins us. But first…..Very few investors would consider basing their entire life savings around owning just one stock. The reason is obvious. Even with the best company on the planet, times change, things go wrong, competitors emerge and the stock price can fall. At first glance, some investors believe diversification simply means SPREADING your risk. But is that really all there is to it? If all it took to be successful was to own lots of different stocks, without regard to WHY you own each and every one of them, then there would be no losers on Wall Street. Everybody would win every day, and all the time. Because we know there are more losers than winners on Wall Street, it is important to truly diversify your portfolio in the smartest way possible–and according to your age. A power packed show you don’t want to miss, MASTERING MONEY is on the air!!!

Social Security benefits are one of the most important sources of income for retired Americans, and deciding when to start taking monthly checks from Social Security is a key element of almost everyone’s financial plan for retirement. One of the arguments some financial advisors make is that by delaying your benefits, you can get what they call a “guaranteed return” of up to 8%! But are you REALLY “making” 8 percent on your money by waiting, or is it a false narrative? Today on Mastering Money, Steve will explain why the “8% Return Myth” is just that–a Myth…. In fact, he will PROVE it!! If you want clear data on exactly when to claim Social Security and HOW to incorporate it into your financial plan, you don’t want to miss TODAY’S show….MASTERING MONEY is on the air!!

One of the key challenges for amateur investors is the attraction to RISING PRICES. When the prices of most consumer goods such as gasoline or vegetables rise, people tend to either cut back or find a substitute. However, with financial assets, the opposite seems true. Many investors are attracted to a stock whose price has risen more than one whose price has fallen. This tendency often results in poor investment performance. It is difficult for an individual investor to effectively construct and maintain a portfolio that is properly diversified, minimizes fees and taxes, avoids overlapping assets, and stays in its lane without emotion. THAT’S why in retirement, hiring a professional to manage your assets with a clear WRITTEN strategy is so wise. Today, we’ll review the most practical and pragmatic approach to your investments, then Shelley Grandidge joins us for the Q & A. Don’t miss it….MASTERING MONEY is on the air!!

An annuity is a retirement account with “airbags” and a seat belt. Buyers invest a sum of money in a particular annuity, and in exchange, they’re guaranteed a steady monthly check for a set number of years, or for life, their choice. On an increasing basis, annuities are being used by retiring professionals to take the risk out of their nest eggs. In years past, pensions were common. Today, it is more common NOT to have a pension. The satisfaction rate on annuities is actually far higher than mutual funds. So why do low-information newspaper and internet journalists knock annuities? Because they are LOW on information! Today, we’ll fix that and we hope some uninformed journalists are listening in. Then Medicare and Health insurance expert Shelley Grandidge joins us for the Q & A. You don’t want to miss today’s show…MASTERING MONEY IS ON THE AIR!!

One of the simplest ways for companies to communicate financial well-being and shareholder value is to say “the dividend check is in the mail.” Dividends, those cash distributions that many companies pay out regularly from their earnings to their stockholders, send a clear, powerful message about future prospects and performance. A company’s willingness and ability to pay steady dividends over time – and better yet–its power to INCREASE them each year–goes a long way towards communicating its fundamental strength and sustainability to shareholders. Then, insurance and Medicare expert Shelley Grandidge joins us for the Q & A. A power-packed show today that you don’t want to miss….MASTERING MONEY is on the air!!!
