Higher mortgage rates were put in place to quell inflation, but research from Columbia Business School have shown that higher rates are shutting out more home buyers, sending them to rental apartments in glistening new buildings AND DRIVING UP THOSE RENTS.  Fed Chairman Powell’s higher for longer interest rate strategy appears to be backfiring, and now actually causing more inflation.
